2010 Hobart, Tasmania
It’s on again! The DataFlex Developers and Users Group (DDUG) is pleased to announce preliminary details for their annual Corroboree for 2010.
The event will be held in Hobart, Tasmania from the 6th to the 9th of October, 2010 at the Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel. Data Access Worldwide have committed to send over a representative to bring us all up to date on the latest developments in the DataFlex world. The DDUG committee are currently putting together an agenda, and finalising costs, but be assured that the program will as usual be packed full of informative sessions, tips and tricks to enable you to get the very best from VDF. Pre-Conference Training courses are also being considered.
Every year the best DataFlex Developers and Users from all around Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia get together for the Corroboree, and this is an amazing chance to learn from some experts in the field, and network with other developers in the region.
Tasmania is one of the most interesting and diverse of the Australian States. Offering the World Heritage Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair National Park, white-water rafting on the Franklin River, Caving, historic Port Arthur Penal Settlement, and much more.

Accommodation
The DDUG Board are pleased to announce that a special room rate has been arranged for Corroboree attendees. The following rates are available for attendees arriving on the 5th October and departing on the 10th October 2010:
- Studio Apartments (1x queen bed) @ $152 per apartment, per night, room only.
- One Bedroom Apartments (1x queen bed) @ $172 per apartment, per night, room only.
- Two Bedroom Mezzanine Apartments (1x queen and 2x single beds) @ $242 per apartment, per night, room only.

These rates are available up until 30 days prior to the conference. Cancellations made inside 30-days to arrival will attract a cancellation charge equivalent to 1-nights accommodation. All standard bookings terms and conditions apply to all bookings.
Agenda
Data Access Europe have confirmed that Eddy Kleinjan will be joining us in person for the event this year. Eddy last attended the Corroboree in Fremantle two years ago. Eddy is currently the Technical Director for Data Access Worldwide Europe. Data Access Worldwide is a leading global provider of Visual DataFlex application development software for Windows, AJAX web applications and web services (SOAP), Dynamic AI business intelligence tools, and the Electos content management system.

We are pleased to also announce two pre-Corroboree Workshops at the Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel.
AJAX Applications Workshop, Tuesday, October 5, 9am-4pm
- Topics include: Setting up the Workspace; Using the Wizard to get started; Grids and Lists; Working with the TreeView; Using client side expressions; Calling Server directly from Browser; Creating Event listeners, like OnAfterSave.
- Requirements: Working copy of Visual DataFlex 2010 (v16) installed; Internet Information Server installed.
Visual DataFlex 2010 New Grid Control Workshop, Wednesday, October 6, 9am-4pm
- Topics include: The basics explained; Basic Grids; Cell Control types Checkbox and Combo; Loading Data into the Grid; Navigating Grids; Setting up a data source; Data aware Grids; Static data lists; Manually Filling the list; Calculated Columns; Prompt lists; Using the Field Chooser; Saving and restoring Grid Layout; Changing Colours dynamically.
- Requirements: Working copy of Visual DataFlex 2010 (v16) installed.
